Rafinha: It is every player's dream to join Real Madrid

Rafinha is one of three right-backs that los Blancos are tracking at the moment, with the Primera Division leaders also said to be looking at Gregory van der Wiel of Ajax and Liverpool's Glen Johnson, according to a report in Spain.

The Brazilian defender, who only joined Bayern from Genoa last summer, insists that he is happy at the Allianz Arena but confessed that a move to Madrid would be something of a dream come true.

"This is the first time I’ve heard about this,” Rafinha told Goal.com. “But if true, it is an honour to be considered by a club like Real Madrid.

“It is the dream of every player to play for Real. This shows that I'm doing my job well and it motivates me to work even harder.

“But of course, I have a contract until 2014 with Bayern Munich. I am very happy here at Bayern, which is a great club.”

The Bavarians reportedly paid Genoa €5.5 million for Rafinha, who has one Brazil cap to his name.

Maradona: 'Aguero has to play for Real Madrid'

The Argentine legend is of the opinion that the 23-year-old would reach the next level at the Spanish capital club, adding that Los Blancos' president, Florentino Perez, has "no limits" and could bring his son-in-law to Jose Mourinho's team despite resistance from the English club.

Maradona went on to say that Aguero should have joined Madrid instead of Premier League leaders City last summer.

"Kun [Aguero] has to play for Real Madrid. If he signed for them, it would be his big break," the Al Wasl coach told Argentine radio station Radio La Red.

"Even though he is flying at City, the best thing would have been to sign for Madrid. He made a mistake.

"Now, as he is doing so well, it will be difficult to get him from City. They will want to keep him because [manager Roberto] Mancini has him very much in his plans.

"However, it Madrid want someone, they get them. Florentino has no limits. It's a question of convincing City, but not with money because they have plenty of that."

Maradona went on to theorise that Portuguese ace Cristiano Ronaldo could reach new heights if partnered with the 23-year-old.

"If Kun was playing for Madrid they would close in further on Barcelona. We would be talking about Cristiano Ronaldo scoring 60 and more goals, because Kun would move the entire defence," the 51-year-old argued.

Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal: Van Persie hits stunning stoppage-time winner as comeback dents Reds' top-four hopes

The result means Kenny Dalglish’s men still have only one Premier League victory to their name in 2012, and are now 10 points behind the Gunners with a game in hand as the season enters its final stages.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have now extended their unbeaten run in the league to five matches and will be delighted to emerge with a victory from one of their hardest remaining fixtures.

With so much at stake, both managers kept faith with the majority of the players who helped their teams enjoy morale-boosting victories last weekend.

Reds boss Dalglish was forced to make do without captain Steven Gerrard, injured on England duty on Wednesday evening. League Cup final hero Dirk Kuyt was preferred to Andy Carroll alongside Luis Suarez up front, while Jamie Carragher, Martin Kelly and Jay Spearing were also handed starts.

Despite injury concerns after their international participation in midweek, both Robin van Persie and Thomas Vermaelen started for Arsenal, as boss Arsene Wenger elected to field an unchanged side to the one which came back to stun Tottenham 5-2 a week ago.

Flushed with recent success, both sides began in confident mood, stroking the ball around with speed and assurance. Chances were at a premium in the early moments, but it was the Arsenal defence which looked the more vulnerable in the face of Liverpool pressure, with Suarez in particular causing problems.

The Uruguayan forced Wojciech Szczesny into an awkward headed clearance outside his area before Jordan Henderson wasted a promising two-on-one situation.

Moments later, the hosts spurned a golden opportunity to break the deadlock. Referee Mark Halsey rightly awarded a penalty when Suarez was felled in the box by Szczesny, but the Pole redeemed himself superbly by saving both Kuyt’s initial penalty and the scuffed rebound.

The score remained goalless but the Arsenal defence were still getting caught out repeatedly high up the pitch, and this escape simply postponed the inevitable. Henderson soon found himself in acres of space on the right flank, and his dangerous cross was inadvertently turned into his own net by Laurent Koscielny as he tried to clear.

Having seized the initiative, Liverpool poured forward in a bid to increase their superiority. A neat move from the left to the right flank again found Henderson all on his own and, after his low shot was parried by Szczesny, Suarez crashed the rebound against the post.

But just as a Reds second looked imminent, Arsenal equalised with their first clear chance of the game. Bacary Sagna curled a superb cross in from deep and Van Persie showed good strength to hold off Carragher before powering a header beyond Reina.

Stung by this setback, the hosts attacked with fresh vigour. Suarez’s brilliant jinking run and shot forced another top save from Szczesny, before Kuyt glanced a pinpoint Charlie Adam cross against the woodwork. Despite the hosts’ best efforts, however, Arsenal managed to escape to the interval on level terms.

The visitors sought to gain a foothold after the break, but they suffered a blow almost immediately when Mikel Arteta had to be stretchered off after a nasty looking accidental collision with Henderson. Abou Diaby replaced the Spaniard to make only his third appearance of the season.

Arsenal now enjoyed a greater share of possession in the midfield, but it was Liverpool who still posed the greater attacking threat, and Szczesny had to be brave to parry away Spearing’s knock-down with Kelly bearing down upon him.

Neither side looked particularly convincing when dealing with deliveries from wide areas, and moments after Kelly had missed a gilt-edged chance to put Liverpool back in front when he failed to make any clean contact with Kuyt’s precise centre, Reina denied Theo Walcott’s deflected strike with his trailing legs.

Tiring legs saw gaps begin to appear, but neither side appeared to have the composure to take full advantage. Stewart Downing’s poor cross denied Suarez a simple tap-in, and moments later the former Middlesbrough man lashed wide from long range.

But just as the game appeared to be petering out into a draw, another piece of brilliance from Van Persie won it. Having once again escaped the attentions of Carragher, the Dutchman met Alex Song's stunningly precise chipped pass with a sumptuous volley which flew past Reina.

Liverpool poured forward but never looked like equalising, and now face a huge challenge to secure Champions League football next season.

Juventus 1-1 Chievo: Drame strike cancels out De Ceglie opener as Conte's men fall three points behind AC Milan

Juventus missed a chance to make up ground on table-toppers AC Milan as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Chievo in their Serie A clash at Juventus Stadium.

In an open and entertaining game, Paolo De Ceglie opened the scoring in the first half, but Boukary Drame struck with a quarter of an hour to go to peg the hosts back and deny them a crucial three points in their chase for the title.
Despite a strong start by Juve it was the visitors who threatened first, Paolo Sammarco forcing Gianluigi Buffon into an early save with a strong header.

However, it was soon all one-way traffic for the hosts, and their pressure was rewarded with the opener after 18 minutes. Andrea Pirlo's free kick took a flick off Giorgio Chiellini and bounced off the post into the path of De Ceglie, who made no mistake from a few yards out.

The match was flowing from end to end, with Chievo showing some encouraging signs on the counter attack. Juventus always looked the stronger though, with Emanuele Giaccherini at the centre of things in the attacking third.

The midfielder first teed up Simone Padoin for a long range drive that was tipped away at full stetch by Stefano Sorrentino, before scuffing a volley of his own just wide after a delightful long ball by Leonardo Bonucci.

At the other end of the pitch, Sammarco sent a volley just over the bar as Chievo fired a warning shot heading into the interval.

Nine minutes after the restart, Buffon was called into action once more to parry Francesco Acerbi's long range free kick.

The hosts fired back soon after, with Alessandro Matri teeing up Padoin on the edge of the box for a shot that was just touched wide by the outstretched leg of Sorrentino.

The game was by no means won, and Chievo went close again when a header by substitute Davide Moscardelli was planted just wide of Buffon's far post.

Moscardelli would make a far more decisive contribution in the 76th minute, cutting the ball back towards Drame, whose low drive beat Buffon and was diverted by Bonucci en route to the back of the net.

Juventus turned up the pressure as the game neared its end, and they nearly snatched a winner with a long range strike by Pirlo in injury time, but Sorrentino did excellently to tip it away and send his side home with a well-earned point.

The result sees Juventus remain three points behind Milan at the Serie A summit, though they still hold a game in hand. Chievo, meanwhile, move to ninth place with 34 points.

Real Madrid's Mourinho on London trip: I don't have to give explanations to anyone

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has angrily defended the reasons for his recent trip to London, amid reports he could be set to exit the Spanish giants this summer.

The Portuguese trainer was spotted 'house-hunting' in the English capital on Tuesday, fuelling speculation that he may be set to join either Tottenham or former club Chelsea at the end of the current campaign.

However, ahead of Sunday's encounter against Espanyol, the 49-year-old refused to divulge the purpose of his visit at his pre-match press conference.

"I don't have to give explanations to anyone concerning my private life. When one of us leaves Madrid, we inform the club out of courtesy. I don't have to tell you [the press] anything," he told reporters on Saturday evening.

And he then mysteriously added: "On Monday I am going away again."

The Portuguese also evaded further questions about his future, saying: "I don't want to talk about it, it's not the right time."

Mourinho then turned his attentions to this weekend's fixture and his side's growing injury concerns, with Fabio Coentrao, Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria all injured, and Kaka a doubt.

"I do not know how Kaka is, we will have to wait. Yesterday he did not practice. It depends on other injuries as we need everyone so we may have to risk him. If not for 90 minutes, then for 45 or 20. We will see after training," he added.

"Di Maria is injured. He is very important to our game and is working to recover. The important thing is that he gets better soon because he makes his mark on this team."

Mourinho also discussed the future of two players who have recently been linked with moves away from the Santiago Bernabeu - Gonzalo Higuain and Esteban Granero.

"Higuain is one of the best in the world. Only a fool would want to sell one of the best. Even when he is not scoring goals, he remains one of the best and a very special player, so I have no intention for him to leave Madrid," he stated.

"Granero never lets me down, he always fulfills my expectations. If there is someone you can trust it is Granero. I have no time to read the experts in the press. Granero plays with a lot of character and is a guy with a very special personality which I can't lose at Madrid."

The former Inter trainer was also questioned on Nuri Sahin after the midfielder played for Turkey midweek in their 2-1 friendly defeat to Slovakia, despite struggling for game time at the Bernabeu.

"Madrid are better than Turkey. Without being offensive, it is easier to play for a national team than a club [like Madrid]. I still think Nuri Sahin, with a proper pre-season, could do much more. The team cannot be joking at the moment," he explained.

Mourinho concluded the press conference by saying a few words about Espanyol, a side he rates highly, along with coach Mauricio Pochettino.

"Espanyol are all that matters. They are a very good team with a very good coach. They will not be scared of winning here. Our aim to to get to the next game with the same [points] difference. If we win tomorrow, it will be one game less [to go]. It's a vital clash for us," he revealed.

Madrid head into the weekend 10 points clear of fierce rivals Barcelona, with the Catalans set to face Sporting Gijon at Camp Nou on Saturday evening.
